A Pioneer Gone

The death of Mrs. Eliza Jenkins at Ontario, August 2d, removed another of the pioneers. She and her husband, James Prisey Jenkins, settled on the farm on which she died, located near Ontario in 1861; and her husband gave his life in defense of the flag during the War of the Rebellion. Five of her nine children survive her, those remaining in Story county being Mrs. Sarah Jane Dickenson of Ontario and E. Jenkins of Gilbert. Her age was eighty six.
