OBITUARY

Death of John Thompson at Ames

John Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.Thompson, died at Ames, August 2, aged nearly twenty-one years. He was born in Scotland and came to Ames in infancy with his parents and his father many years cared for the stock on the college campus. John had of late years been engaged in railroad work and last spring was taken sick at Salt Lake City, and his brother William brought him home from there. He rallied and attended the third of July celebration, but a relapse soon after carried him off as stated. His disease was an affection of the heart. His funeral was conducted Wednesday at the family residence by Rev. Minchin.
