George H. Kerr

George H Kerr of Cambridge died on Friday last at the Soldiers Home in Marshalltown at the age of 64. Mr. Kerr was a native of Carthage, Missouri, came to Story county with his father's family before or early in the war and as a boy saw service for several month in Company H of the 45th Iowa Infantry. After the war he taught school for many years in the normal institutes of the '70s. His home continued to be at Cambridge, where he married and became a widower, and he finally went to the Soldiers Home, where he had been for a number of years. He had a great many friends in various parts of this county, and he was a man of much personal worth. The news of his death is received with much regret.
