ROLAND, IA. - Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church for Tommy M. Ryan of Roland. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery. Mr. Ryan, 80, died Tuesday at Story City Hospital of complications after a stroke.

Born near Roland, he returned in 1935 after living in Minnesota. He was a retired hog buyer and a member of the Lutheran Church.

Among survivors are his wife, Sylvia; a daughter, Marlene Foster of Des Moines; three sons, Vernon of Ames, Steven of Clarksville, Tenn., and Jay of Mankato, Minn.; a sister, Myrtle Randall of Geneva, Minn.; two brothers, Clarence and Norval, both of Albert Lea, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the church, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Thurs 22 Aug 1991.
