Larry Dunbar

Larry Dean Dunbar, 44, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at his home.

The funeral is set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cornerstone Church in Ames. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

Mr. Dunbar was born Aug. 1, 1970, in Washington, Iowa, the son of David and Betty Hodges. He married Lisa Ottoson Feb. 12, 1999, in Las Vegas.

Mr. Dunbar grew up in Rubio and graduated from Pekin High School in 1988. He attended Indian Hills Community College and worked as a production manager for Associated Materials in Cuyahoga Falls.

Mr. Dunbar loved coaching his son, Nathan, in his Little League baseball and football teams. He also loved being with his girls, Madilyn and Olivia, even played with Barbie dolls with them.

Mr. Dunbar was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs and attended sprint car races in Knoxville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking with is family.

Survivors include: his wife; children, Nathan, Madilyn and Olivia Dunbar; his father, David Dunbar and Margaret of Kingman, Arizona; and siblings, Nola, Ted, Connie, Bob, William, John and Susan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Dunbar.
