Richard Dean Apland, 75, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016, at his home.

Richard was born February 22, 1941, in Cambridge, the son of Carl Tilden and Mollie (Lee) Apland. On September 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Yoder in Cambridge. Richard was a farmer and enjoyed fishing and being with his friends.

Richard is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Cambridge; his daughter, Sheryl Baldus of Nevada; his son, Steve (Jenny) Apland of Bondurant; his grandchildren: Mollie, Rachel and Shelby Baldus and Allison and Katherine Apland; his brother, Don (Leila) Apland of Ankeny; and his sister, Mary Ann Apland of Madrid. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Richard’s wishes, he has been cremated and no services are planned. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge First Responders.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
