The funeral services of the late Mrs. Phillip Allen were held, as announced, at the home Thursday afternoon, and conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. G. Walz, and Dr. Innes of the college church. The attendance was large, including many of her Milford township neighborhood friends, and also friends and acquaintances from Ames. Relatives or special friend of the family residing outside of Nevada, mostly outside the county, were J. A. Rulow [sic], Delavan, Ill.; Frank Akin, Corning; Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Flutter, Des Moines; Jesse Garberm, Emden, Ill.; Mrs. S. L. Akin and Mrs. Amy Bennett of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. E. Allen and children, Onawa; and Mrs. and Mrs. Chris Chitty and children, Toledo. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery.
