DEATH OF KNUDT PRESCOTT

Knudt Prescott passed away Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Jondal, after a short illness of a week. Mr. Prescott had enjoyed good health, considering his advanced age of 82 years, up til a couple weeks ago when he contracted a cold and pneumonia set in.

Knudt Prescott was born in Hardanger, Norway, August 15, 1838. On November 20, 1862 was was united in marriage to Brita Oldsdatter Laate. To this union six children were born, Knudt, Ole, Bertha, Anna and Tom. Four of the children have proceeded their father in death.

In the spring of 1868 Mr. and Mrs. Prescott emigrated to America, settling first in Lee Co. Ill. There they resided for eight years and then moved to Story county, buying a farm three miles southwest of town, where they lived until 1901 when they moved to Roland. In 1912 Mrs. Prescott passed to the Great Beyond and since that time Mr. Prescott has made his home with his two children, Mrs. S. H. Jondal and K. K. Prescott at Popejoy.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. K. K. Prescott of Popejoy; Mrs. Clarence Barhite and Otis, Alden, Myrtle, Delta and Carl Prescott, Ole and Osmund Olson of Radcliffe; Lars Severeid of Estherville; Mrs. Dan Davis, Mrs. Nibe, Knudt Severeid, Tom Knudson and Irene Knudson of Story City.
