SLATER
Funeral Services for Oley J. StoringOley J. Storing, whose illness dated back to last fall, passed away at his home east of Slater early last Saturday morning, March 17. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, from the home at 1:30 and the Bethlehem church at two. The services at the home were brief. They were in charge of his paster, Rev. Onstad, assisted by Rev. Rorem, Storing's former paster.
The services at the church opened with a song, "The Old Rugged Cross," sung by the Hitz male quartet after which Rev. Onstad read the obituary, and scripture passages and led in prayer. Rev. Rorem gave a short talk, taking as this text, "The One Thing Needful," a vocal solo, "Jesus, Jesus, Only Jesus," was sung by Rev. Onstad. Pastor Onstad's sermon followed. His theme thought was "Looking toThe Cross." In closing the Hitz quartet sang,"Home, Beautiful Home."
There were many lively floral tributes and gifts to the missions and other worthy activities in memory of Mr. Storing. The pallbearers were Martin Helland, Cyrus Sydnes, John Sydnes, Charley Klonglan, Oscar Fritz and Ingvald Estrem. Burial was in the Bethlehem cemetery.
