From the Roland Record, Roland, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, May 8, 1919.

Mrs. Sara Hope

Mrs. Sara Hope was well known to a large number in and around Roland inasmuch as she lived here some years ago, before moving to Story City. She had been poorly of late but has been gradually getting worse until the end came last Friday. She was,not only a faithful member of the church, but just as faithful in believing that it was her duty as a Christian to do the will of her Master at all times. Her life showed that she went from strength to strength and from joy to joy and we have every reason to believe that she could say "O Death, where is thy sting? 0 Grave, where is thy victory?" So she left this life to pass into the joy of her Lord, and may the memory of her life prove a perpetual inspiration to us who are yet living. Funeral services were held at Story. City last Tuesday and interment took place in the Roland Cemetery. Rev. Sandven officiated.

[Transcriber note: Date of birth taken from grave marker. Buried next to Aslak Hope 1844-1922.]
