From the Roland Record, Thursday, April 10, 1919.
Mrs. Anna Chylestad died March 30, 1919.
Anna Wydell was born July 5, 1839, in Ydal, Fuse Prestejeld, Sondhordland, Norway. In 1871 she came to Clayton county, Iowa where she stayed only a short time, when she went to Moody county, South Dakota, and entered upon pioneer life being one of the first settlers of that county. In 1874 she was united in marriage to Ole Chylestad, to which union five children were born, Sam, deceased; Louise, deceased; Ollie, now Mrs. A. D. Watson of Rochester, Minn.; Tillie Deleier, Ranger, Texas; and Edward, deceased.

example of patience and fidelity to truth and faith were given. Not until visions of a heavenly life in Christ Jesus had cheered and illumined the valley of the shadow. By faith in God she could cherish the hope that rested safely upon the atonement of Jesus. Her last words were expressive of peace in God and a willingness to depart and be at rest with Him. Disease did not destroy the charm of a kind and indulgent disposition, nor old age diminish here unselfish solicitude for her friends and loved ones. Her cheerful devotion and acts of kindness to all whom she met will linger long as a fragrant memory in the home where she passed away.
Funeral services were held in Bergen's church last Thursday and interment took place in the Roland Cemetery, Rev. Smedal officiating.
