From the Roland Record, Thursday, January 30, 1919.

Arthur Irvin Holland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Holland, was born on the 5th day of December, 1898, and died January 5th, 1919, being twenty years and one month old at the time the summons came.

He was taken sick with the dreaded influenza on the 27th of December followed by pneumonia, which resulted fatally at 5 o'clock on Sunday, January 5th.

Mr. Holland was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Borwick on the 19th day of June, 1918 at Elims church at Randall, by the Rev. G. O. Paulsrud.

He was an industrious young man, devoted to his friends, of exemplary habits and well liked by those who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. Since the death of his father, which occurred about two years ago, he has been managing the home farm, and now was making preparations to go into farming on his own account. He had already rented a place.

He leaves to mourn his death, besides his wife, his mother, two brothers, Otis and Orvie, five sisters, Emma, Bertha, Helen, Vernice and Margaret.

The funeral services were held from the home at 1 o'clock on January 8th, 1919, Rev. G. Smedal officiating. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.
