MRS. CARRIE MAGNUS PASSED AWAY

A sad message came to relatives here a week ago Saturday, apprising them of the death of Mrs. Frederick Magnus (formerly Carrie Mason) of Minneapolis, Minn. Her death was caused by pneumonia, following the dreaded influenza. She was stricken with the prevalent malady on Saturday, Dec. 7th, and on the following Thursday pneumonia set in and on Saturday, Dec. 14th, she passed to her reward.

The funeral services were conducted at Northfield, Minn., and interment was made in the beautiful Wood lawn cemetery at that place. Four professors from St. Olaf College acted as pall bearers. Funeral addresses were given by Rev. Klevin of Northfield, Minn. and Rev. J. M. Mason of Montevideo, Minn.

Mrs. Magnus was born on a farm southeast of Roland. She attended school here and later at St. Ansgar, where she graduated with honors. She received her college education at St. Olaf, Northfield, Minn. She taught school here during the year of 1914-1915.

Several years ago she was married to Frederick Magnus, who was an instructor in one of the high schools in Minneapolis, but this last year he was military instructor at the Central high school at Minneapolis.

The deceased was 30 years old last May,and leaves to mourn her death, her husband, a daughter a year and a half old, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Mason, of Northfield, MMinn., two sisters, Mrs. Karl Kildahl of Douglas, N.D., and Mrs. Iver Ramseth of Beloit, Wis., and four brothers, Rev. J. M. Mason of Montevideo, Rev. Alfred Mason of Beloit, Wis., Will of Watrous, Canada, and Homer who is in France.
