C. D. Doolittle rites are Friday

Carroll Duane Doolittle, 47, Story City died at Veterans Hospital, Des Moines about midnight Tuesday evening. He was a patient there for two weeks.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from Grace United Methodist Church, Story City, with the Rev. Paul H. Beckman officiating. Burial will be in Sheffield cemetery, south of Story City. There will be military rites at the graveside.

Mr. Doolittle was born Nov. 28, 1932 on a farm in Story County to Frank and Lenora Doolittle.

He was a veteran of World War I and has farmed in the Story City area for many years. He married Berva Arnold in 1946.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Deborah Williams, Waterloo, Mrs. Penny Goodman, Battle Creek and Mrs. Denise Bravard, Ames; his mother, Mrs. Lenora Doolittle, Story City; a brother, Dorrell, Story City; and a sister, Mrs. Nayda Nibe, Blairsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father.
