MAXWELL.
Supposed suicide. The community was much surprised on learning of the sudden death of Mr. Lewis Bell, living south of Peoria in Polk county. Mr. Bell ws in town trading on Saturday forenoon. He returned home, and was suddenly taken ill and before medical assistance could be obtained he was dead. It was afterward learned that he bought stricknine while in town. He has been in poor health with heart difficulties, and whether he took the poison for relief or not many never be known. Mr. Bell was 55 years old, has lived near Peoria nearly all of his life and has many relatives to mourn. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon with services by Rev. Roberts and interment in Brethren Cemetery.
