Nevada Journal, 1941 Funeral Services Held at Colo for Mrs George Danskin. Colo, IA May 15-Funeral services for Mrs Elizabeth Danskin who passed away May 9th at Glendive, MT, were held from the Colo Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, May 11.
Funeral services were in charge of the local pastor, Rev. H.H. Proett and interment was in the Colo cemetery by the side of her husband, the late George Danskin, who preceded her in death about 17 years ago.
Pallbearers were, Lloyd, John, Horace and Frank Lounsberry, Arthur Nichols and Mark Wilson. Mrs. Lloyd Lounsberry accompanied at the piano by Mrs Mark Wilson, sang, "My Savior First of All," and "Saved by Grace." The flowers were cared for by Mrs Charles Binder and Mrs Omar Farren.
Relatives present at the funeral from out of town included Dr. M.G. Danskin of Glendive, Mont.; George Danskin of Northfield, MN; Mrs Anna Danskin and daughters, Annabelle Lounsberry of Des Moines and Isabelle Danskin of Chicago; Mr and Mrs Arthur Nichols and son, Billy of Belle Plaine, Miss Gladys Lounsberry of Jefferson; John Lounsberry, Jr. of Parkersburg; Verne Lounsberry of Dallas Center; Wm. Lounsberry of Des Moines; Horace Lounsberry of McCallsburg; Frank Lounsberry, Misses Effie and Sibyl Danskin of Nevada; Mr and Mrs A.P. Henry and family and Miss Alice Wilson of Des Moines.
Mrs Elizabeth Danskin passed away on May 9, 1941 at Glendive, Mont., after a lingering illness at the age of 85 years.
The deceased was born near Kingston, Ont. and was one of 13 children born to Thomas and Ellen Clyde. Only one brother survives.
Mrs Danskin came to Iowa in 1881 and not long after was married to George Danskin. To this union were born three sons, only one of who remains to mourn her passing. Mr Danskin passed away in 1924, one son, Roy, died in 1903, and Clyde in 1927. Mrs Danskin was tenderly cared for by her son, Dr. M.G. Danskin, at the hospital in Glendive.
Also left to mourn her passing are a step-daughter, Mrs Earl Sime of Bozeman, MT. and a step-son, Ira Danskin of Los Angeles, CA., and a brother, James Clyde of Longmont, CO, together with three grandchildren, Isablle Danskin of Chicago, George Danskin, now a student at Carlton College, and Robert Danskin of Glendive, MT., and a large number of step-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
What is our loss is her gain. Mrs Danskin was a devoted christian and lived a faithful Christian life, helping others. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Methodist church at Colo, never having transferred her membership. After failing health kept her from attending church services she kept up her life of service for her Master by visiting the sick in the hospital and passing on her words of cheer and comfort. She longed for the time when she could go meet her Savior and often said she wanted to live each day in such a way that when the call came for her she would have her house in order and be ready to go.
Interment by her husband in the Colo Cemetery,
