Marian Maxine Williams was born August 13, 1929 to William Herbert and Mary (Price) Brand in Glidden, Iowa. She lived on the farm in Glidden with her parents, two sisters and one brother until her graduation from Glidden High School. After high school, Marian moved to California where she worked in a millinery shop as a bookkeeper. While there she married her beau, David Williams, of Carroll, Iowa.

Before retirement, Marian achieved the level of comptroller at Whiteline Transfer and Storage. After retirement, Marian moved to Arizona to join the snowbirds. She took up painting, golf, traveling and walking while looking at the mountains. She loved the mountains!

Marian and David had two children, a daughter, Sandy (Larry) Stevenson and a son, Jim (Charmaine) Williams. She also had five granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons of her own. Marian shared three granddaughters and two grandsons with her current husband, Clayton Bakke.

Marian passed away at 86 years of age on May 29, 2016 at Northcrest Health Care Center in Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; and two husbands, David Williams and Bob Rockey.

Burial will be at a later date in Merle Hay Cemetery in Glidden, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Research Center, 200 Fi
