OBITUARY
JOHN H. PEARL
John H. Pearl, well known resident of the north part of his city, died Saturday evening last at the Sanitarium in this city after an illness which had been coming on him for several months but which had been critical for only about two weeks. It was within about that time that he was down town but his trouble was Brights disease, and when he failed he did so rapidly. He was born November 27, 1854, at Pine Rock, Ill., and died as stated at Nevada, Iowa, May 17, 1913, aged 58 years, 5 months, 20 days. The family came to Story county in 1870 but after remaining here for a dozen years removed to Pottawattamie county, where the father died. Mr. Pear, who was always a bachelor, became then the mainstay of his mother, whom he accompanied to California and thence back to Nevada, where they lived in the north part of the city for many years. Mrs. Pearl died four years ago, and since then he had had his home with his sister, Mrs. Joshua Bryant He is survived by two brothers, Rev. G. W. and J C., both of California, his sister, Mrs. Bryant, here, and other relatives, as well as numerous friends He was a man of force and character and personal worth. His funeral was conducted Monday forenoon from the Church of Christ by the pastor, Rev. Ruppert.
