From Nevada Representative September 9, 1891
DIED.--At the house of her niece, Mrs. Margaret Neasham, in this city, Thursday evening, September 3d, Mrs. Rachael Hansell Jackson, in her 66th year. The deceased was born in England, Sept. 21, 1825, grew up and married there, and had three children, of whom the two eldest died young. She came, in 1879, directly from England to Nevada, where her brother John Hansell and his family were already living, bringing her son John, then only a lad a here her home continued until death. She had generally enjoyed reasonably good health until worn-out by the cares attendant upon the last illness of her brother in her own house, she fell a victim to the attack which she withstood for only two weeks. Mrs. Jackson was a modest, unassuming woman, a devoted member of the Methodist church, and entirely content to fill faithfully her small niche in the world, and engrossed in her work of bringing up her son to the best type of manhood; yet she gained for herself more than an ordinary place in the estimation of the community, and at her funeral warm-hearted mourners were present from without as well as within the family circle. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful, and truly expressed the very high regard entertained for her. The services were conducted briefly at the house and more amply at the church by Rev. Danner, at both places. Mrs. Jackson's death is an especially had blow to her son, who was building for her and himself an attractive residence in the southeast part of town, and for the many kind attentions paid his mother in her last illness and himself in his hour of bereavement he wishes us to express his grateful appreciation.
