Mary Ellen Cook was born in Lake county, Illinois, May 11, 1848; was married to Lloyd Cummings of Colo, December 22nd, 1874; and died at her home in Story county, Iowa, June 23, 1891. She was converted in March, 1887, under the labors of Mrs. Libbie and united with the M. E. church in Colo. The burial service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Harned, and the funeral discourse was delivered by the writer to a large and deeply sympathizing audience as the family are well known and highly respected. She has left her husband with seven children, one an infant, one brother, C. W. Cook, and an aged mother, with many friends here, while she has joined the Church Triumphant and in Glory! A. W. G.
