From Nevada Representative April 1, 1891
Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Funson were called, last Saturday morning March 28th, 1891, to part with their little son, Harvey T., after an illness of about two weeks, aged one year and four months. The death of this attractive and promising child is a great grief to his parents and near relatives. The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon, and attended by many sympathizing friends and neighbors. The services were conducted by Revs. Danner, Coyle and Payne. The singing by the choir added much to the comforting influence of the hour, the selection, Percival's "Flight of Time," which follows, being specially gratifying.
Faintly now, thou falling river,
Like the dream that dies away;
Down to ocean gliding ever.
Keep thy calm unruffled way;
Time with such a silent motion,
Floats along, on wings of air,
To eternity's dark ocean,
Burying all its treasurers there.Roses bloom, and then they wither;
Cheeks are bright, then fade and die;
Shapes of light are wafted hither
Then, like visions, hurry by;
Quick as clouds of evening driven
O'er the many-colored west,
Years are bearing us to heaven,
Home of happiness and rest.The floral tributes were many and beautiful, and mainly tokens of sympathy from Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Gifford, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Fitton, Dr. and Mrs. Stitzell, Mrs. Jas. Blackman, Mrs. Forbes and Grandpa and Grandma Shugart.
In this the saddest experience of their lives, Mr. and Mrs. Funson desire to return their sincere thanks to all who so kindly aided them during their recent bereavement in the loss of their little Harvey.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Harvey T. Funson was the son of Hugh M. Funson and Ella Shugart.
