Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

David LeRoy Anderson was born on July 13, 1942 to LeRoy and Mary (Keller) Anderson in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1960. David worked at the Iowa State Power Plant, Butler Manufacturing, Putco Manufacturing and Dee Zee as a welder. He retired from Dee Zee in 2006.

David’s greatest love was his family, followed closely by NASCAR, drag racing and old cars. In high school, you never saw a speck of dirt on his cars. He enjoyed watching in grandsons play baseball. He loved to visit and could start a conversation with anyone.

David passed away January 13, 2016 at 73 years of age.

David is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha Anderson of Huxley; his children, Wade (Terri) Anderson of Huxley, Jane (Jason) Paul of Ames and Jim (Barb) Burrack of Polk City; his grandchildren, Colin, Grant and Garrison Anderson of Huxley, Mindi Skjordal of San Diego, Calif., Amy Skjordal of Kansas City, Kan., Zach Paul, active duty U.S. Army and Ty Paul of Ames; three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; his extended family; and all of his car buddies and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law; a brother-in-law; and his best pal, his dog, Cody.

Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Fjeldberg Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
