Delores R. Mackey was born on December 6, 1931 to Archie and Evelyn (Wike) Durby in Shipley, Iowa. She graduated from Randall High School in 1949 and married George Mackey on November 10, 1956. Delores owned and operated Dee’s Beauty Shop for over 50 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Story City and the Jewell Garden Club. Delores enjoyed traveling and music.

Delores passed away at 84 years of age on December 19, 2015 at Riverside North in Ames.

Delores is survived by her husband, George Mackey of Story City; a brother, Mark (Mary) Durby of rural Jewell; and four nieces, Jill Griffith, Deb Grouch, Sharon Mackey and Marcia Mackey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Jim Gunderson.
