From Nevada Representative May 28, 1890

OBITUARY. The death of Charles Blackman on Sunday morning May 11th, was a surprise to many. For though he had been quite feeble for some time, he was thought to be seriously ill but a few days before his death. He had been a citizen of Nevada for 13 years and was welcomed by all as a good citizen and an earnest Christian. He was a faithful attendant at and supporter of the Methodist church, although not a member of any church at the time of his death. His dying testimony as a Christian was of the same clear, triumphant type that always characterized his testimony when among Christians in public worship of in meeting his friends upon the street. The funeral services took place at the home on Monday, May 19, at 2 P. M., was conducted by the Rev. W. W. Danner and was largely attended by the people of Nevada. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss, the wife and one daughter being in very feeble health.
