From Nevada Representative April 17, 1889
Died.
Howard Byron, son of John P. and Ray Nella Hesson, was born August 24, 1887, died April 13 1889, aged one year, seven months and nineteen days.
On last Saturday, 13th, the little son of J. P. and Nella Hesson, southward of McCallsburg was playing in the yard and seemingly as well as the usual, but about noon or a little thereafter he came running to his mother appearing to be choking and gasping for breath. She called to the hired men who were near for help and they all did what they could but the child was dead in a few moments. Mr. Hesson who was in McCallsburg at the time, was sent for and a physician called but the immediate cause of death could not be clearly determined. Mr. and Mrs. Hesson are very much overcome by this sudden and unexpected shock; and the entire community deeply sympathize with them in the loss of this their only child. Funeral took place on Monday at the M. E. church, Johnson's Grove, where the remains were interred. The services were conducted by Rev. O'Flyng, of Colo, and Rev. Ferguson, of Nevada, and were largely attended by the friends of the bereaved parents.
Dear Howard has gone to his heavenly home
Parents cease thy weeping;
'Tho you're childless and alone,
Your child is in the Saviour's keeping.Christ will fold him in his arms,
Guard and keep him from all harm;
Precious lamb! no tongue can tell
How sad to part with one we loved so well.But your loss is his great gain,
Your sorrow his great joy,
When our Saviour descends from his throne in the sky
And clasps in his arms your dear boy.'Tho 'tis sad to part with loved ones,
We shall meet there bye and bye,
When the summons quickly coming,
Calls us to our home on high.A SYMPATHIZER.
