DIED.--At his residence, four miles southwest of Nevada, Wednesday April 25th, 1888, of inflamatory rheumatism, with typhoid fever, after a long and severe illness, George Whitaker, aged 23 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He was the son of Thomas and Harriet Whitaker, and was born and brought up in Story Co. He was a young man of the highest moral integrity, and universally respected by all who knew him. He was married to Laura Golden, Jan. 20th, 1887, who with many others, now mourns his loss. He and his wife were worthy members of the Evangelical Association church at Iowa Center. He was buried Thursday in Mullen Cemetery, funeral services being conducted by Rev. R. A. Ferguson, and largely attended by the neighbors and friends. His loss will be deeply felt.
