From Nevada Representative February 8, 1888

--Mr. John McCarthy of Wyoming, Nebraska, died last Friday and was buried on Sunday. D. and Henry McCarthy and their sister, Mrs. B. Read of Ames, attended the funeral. Auditor McCarthy was unable to attend on account of the illness of his deputy, Miss McCarthy.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: John McCarthy was the son of Florence McCarthy and Mary Elizabeth Moore. "D. McCarthy" was his brother, Daniel, as was Henry McCarthy. "Mrs. B. Read" was his sister, Mariah McCarthy, wife of Benedict McCollum Read.
