From Nevada Representative May 4, 1887

Our townsman, Henry Boynton, has just received the sad announcement of the death of a beloved brother, Noah Boynton, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Mr. Boynton's death which took place last Saturday, was the result of an injury sustained from a fall some six weeks since. He was a native of Vermont and was born in 1823. He was a man of education, influence and business activity, being a graduate of Kenyon College and at one time associated with the late Jas. B. Eada in ship raising on the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. President Grant appointed him postmaster at Mt. Vernon, O., in 1869, which office he held for about six years. He was a man highly respected in the community in which he lived being at the time of his death, President of the council of the city of his residence. Aside from his brother here, who deeply feels his loss, Mr. B., leaves a wife and four sons and a wide circle of other relatives and friends to mourn his untimely death.
