Dies July 14th
In CaliforniaOrville Harris, 62, graduate of the Nevada High School in the class of 1920, died Saturday, July 14, in a Sacramento, Calif., hospital after several months illness. Death was due to lung cancer.
Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Harris, the deceased wa born in Story County. His parents lived on a farm north of Nevada and later in McCallsburg before coming to Nevada.
Orville Harris left for California shortly after graduation from N.H.S. For a number of years he was employed by the General Tire and Rubber Co. in Sacramento.
Funeral services will be in California. Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif., where his parents are buried.
Survivors include his wife, three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are: Lowell Harris of Marshalltown, Ardis Harris of Glendale, Calif. and Harlan Harris of Rivera, Calif. The sisters are Mrs. Reba Sherk of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Neva Kempek, Richmond, Calif.
He is also survived by an uncle, Clayton Harris, father of Mrs. Eva Harris, father of of Mrs. Harris of Nevada, and an aunt, Mrs. Bessie McQuillan, both of Santa Ana, Calif.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Harris and family in Nevada was for years in the property now owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. George L. Patterson, 1110 Ninth St.
