Lawrence Anthony Alderman
September 16, 1950 - November 1, 2015

Lawrence Anthony Alderman has ended his long fight with cancer. On November 1st his guardian Angels escorted his soul back to his Lord and keeper.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th St., Ames, IA 50010), a graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery (34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel, IA 50003).

After graduating Ames High School Larry enlisted into the Marine Corps and ultimately fought in the Viet Nam War. Following his service Larry attended Drake University's Pre Law program. Soon after he followed in his father's footsteps working for the US Postal Service as a mail handler and spent much of his time as the lead spokesman for the postal labor union successfully fighting for fair treatment for his fellow employees' labor contracts. He then went on to use his charm and wit as a salesman for various companies.

He said his goodbyes to his loved ones left behind, his daughter; Brianne Alderman Braun (Jason), his son; Jesse-James Alderman and granddaughter; Gianna Braun, his loving mother; Mary Alderman, brother; Dave Alderman (Leslie), sister; Rebecca L Fox (Greg), nephews; James Lloyd Fox and Timothy Lloyd Alderman, nieces; Jessica L Fox, Jaclyn L Fox, grand nephews; Tyson Flores and Leonardo Flores and one grand niece01\78; Emma Janssen, many members of the Terrones family of Ames.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his father; Lloyd Alderman, grandparents; John and Josephine Terrones, Vinton and Mary Alderman, uncles; John, Tino, Jess, George, Toche Terrones, cousin Julie Terrones, aunts; Joan and Sophia Terrones.
