James Brown died at his home near Iowa Center last Saturday morning Jan. 16 and his funeral was held at 2 o'clock on Sunday following at the U. E. church. Rev. Urbino gave an interesting discourse. His death resulted from a paralytic stroke which he received on Christmas night and since which he has realized but very little of anything, scarcely knowing anyone and not being able to talk. He was born in Ohio, moved to Iowa with his parents in 1855, and was married twice, His first wife died and left two children. They with his last wife and three children and many relatives and friends mourn his loss. He was almost 67 years old. A large procession followed his remains to the cemetery.
