Colo Chronicles

Another sad accident occurred Saturday afternoon. Chas. Barr, a farmer living south east of town, started to drive home about four o'clock p. m. with a four year old horse hitched to a cart, when near P. W. Hopkins house the horse became unmanageable and in some way kicked Mr. Barr a blow over the heart which caused instant death. The accident was great shock to the community and especially to the family. The funeral services were held Monday in the Catholic church by Rev. Nichols after which the remains were laid to rest in St. James cemetery. Mr. Barr was about sixty years of age, had been a citizen of this town for a great many years and had a large circle of friends. He was highly respected by all. There remain to mourn his loss his wife, two sons and two daughters.
