Knudt Helvig, one of the old citizens and early settlers of Howard township, died at his home west of Roland, Monday evening.

Knudt Helvig, one of the highly respected and pioneer citizens of this township, died at his home west of town last week of paralysis. Mr. Helvig was a man of few words, but of many noble deeds, and in whom his neighbors had implicit faith and confidence. His life was characterized by generous acts, guided as he was by that faith that has ever sheered th heart of the chrisian since the dawn of time. Life ends, eternity begins, for him who had lived to the three score and ten years. Funeral services were held at Bergans church Wednesday afternoon, attnded by a large congregation.
