Obituary from Caldwell Parish Funeral Home, Urbandale, Iowa:

Rick Denis Larpenter, 58, passed away Friday, August 7th, 2015 at home.

Rick was born December 30th, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lillian and Hubert (Abe) Larpenter. He was baptized as one Jehovah's Witnesses at age 14. Until his death, he enjoyed his children and grand children. He loved to cook and enter BBQ contests. He enjoyed collecting baseball memorabilia and enjoyed being around people.

Rick was a deeply spiritual person who showed genuine love to others in a gentle, kind, and compassionate manner. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Glori Larpenter; daughter, Christine (Isaac) Hendershot; Rachelle (Ben) Hull; son, Aaron Larpenter; grandchildren, Barak and Brayden Hendershot; stepmother,Dixie Larpenter; brothers,Frank (Stephanie) Riccelli , Terry Riccelli; step - sisters, Becky (Jim) Canterbury,Sandy (Tom) Meeks; Barb Larpenter (sister-in-law); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Rodney Larpenter,step-brother, Peter Riccelli, and Hubert (Abe) Larpenter.

Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15th, 2015, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 23048 590th Ave. Nevada, IA ; time for visiting and fellowship following the memorial, at Gates Hall in Nevada.
