Sylvia Earline (Jennings) Sydnes, 71, of Nevada, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Earline was born December 16, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbur Guy and Kathryn Myrtle (McHone) Jennings. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1961. She retired after working many years at Nevada Computer Center. Earline was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada.

Earline loved her family very much, including her beloved dog and companion, Sophie. Her life revolved around her grandchildren, whom she adored, and attending their numerous athletic activities. She could always be found in the stands cheering proudly. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children: Jodi (Doug) Stahl of Williamsburg, Judi (Larry) Greene of Alleman, JR (Dena) Sydnes of Cambridge; her brother: Terry (Barb) Jennings of Cambridge; and nine grandchildren: Jessica, Lorren and Mitchell Stahl, Amanda, Russell and Matthew Greene, and Katie, Molly and Eric Sydnes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother: Ron Jennings.

Memorial services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 15th, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Inurnment will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 – 7PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials may be made to the Earline Sydnes Memorial Fund which will be distributed among her grandchildren’s School Booster Clubs.

The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is handling services.
