SUICIDE
Woman Hangs Herself in Barn
Miss Julia Johnston, an eccentric maiden lady, aged about 45, was found by neighbors, late yesterday evening hanging in a barn on her place, north of town five miles.
The last time she was seen alive was last Saturday; and upon discovering the body, Dr. Propst, coroner, was advised. On his arrival upon the scene he found the body still hanging and it was cut down and turned over to a Roland undertaker for interment.
So far as known the deceased has no relatives, other than a brother, an inmate of the asylum at Clarinda.
She owned the 40 acre place where she lived and it was farmed by a tenant residing near her. Impaired mentality is the attributed cause for the woman's rash act.
