DR. A. V. STORM

Word has been received by Mrs. Fred Ferguson and sister, Mrs. Frank N. Summers of the death of their uncle, Dr. A. V. Storm, a former resident of Ames, Nevada and Grant township.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Storm, who settled in Grant township during the early '80's and later were residents of Nevada. He was born at Princeton, Ill., but dame to Nevada as a small boy. After attending high school in Nevada and graduating in 1882, with the same class as Dean C. F. Curtiss, he attended and graduated from Iowa State College. For many years he was connected with Iowa State in the Department of Agriculture Education.

He left Ames in 1912 to go to the University of Minnesota, at St. Paul, where he was head of the Agricultural Education for many years.

Dr. Storm who retired a number of years ago and has since been living at San Diego, Calif., leaves besides his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Dickenson of Columbia, Mo.; sons, Arthur V. of Minneapolis and Paul of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ross Horton of Arkansas City, Kans.; nieces, Mrs. F. E. Ferguson and Mrs. Frank N. Summers of Ames.

Dr. Storm was very active in Masonic circles. He was a former past master of Arcadia Lodge No. 249, A. F. & A. M., of Ames, and was also a past grand high priest of the Royal Arch Masons of Iowa.

Storm street in Ames was named for Dr. Storm, who built the first house on Lynn avenue, north of Knapp st., and in 1910 owned much of the land in that area.

Burial services were in California.
