Robert James Dwyer, age 81, died March 20, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. A gathering of friends and family will be 9:00- 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave in Ames. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at Ontario Cemetery following the luncheon.

Robert Dwyer was born in Chicago, IL December 30, 1933 to Robert Dwyer and Agnus Cussen. He graduated from DePaul University and worked for several companies in the Chicago area after serving two years in the U.S. Army. He met his loving wife, Teresa, in Chicago and they were married on May 1, 1965. Robert was an active member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Robert was preceded in death by a son, Michael, in 1987 and one sister, Helen. Robert is survived by wife, Teresa; son Joseph and his wife Jeanne, with grandchildren Catherine, Steven, and Timothy of Evansville, IN; son Ian and his wife Sharon, with grandsons Brennan and Michael of Pearland, TX; and daughter Anita of Jefferson, IA.
Robert loved to travel across the country with Teresa and his children on many great adventures, and in later years, to visit his children and families.

Memorials may be directed to the Boys and Girls Club of Ames.
