Duane David Kolbe, 80 of Zearing, Iowa passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Zearing Health Care Center in Zearing. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Fredregill Funeral Home, 310 North Center St., Zearing, Iowa, from 4-6 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard, Iowa.

Duane was born on January 23, 1935 in Green Mountain, Iowa to David and Ruth (McCoy) Kolbe. He attended school in Green Mountain and later attended school in Radcliffe, Iowa. He married Shirley Good on April 2, 1955 in Jackson, Minnesota. Duane was an owner operator semi truck driver for over 50 years and retired in 1998. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Smokey Ridge Muzzle Loaders, Spring Valley Motorcycle Riders Group, and Triumph Motorcycle Enthusiast. Duane bred Siberian Huskies for many years.

Duane is survived by Shirley Kolbe of Zearing, IA; daughter Debra (Joe) Norem of Cincinnati, OH; sons David Kolbe of Union, IA, Robert (Kristi) Kolbe of Hubbard, IA, Richard Kolbe of Zearing, IA; 9 granchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Don (Marilyn) Kolbe of Story City, IA; and sister Karen (Eric) Baker of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers DeLos and Gary, daughter Teresa, and sister Donna.

Memorials may be directed to Bob and Kristi Kolbe.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing has been entrusted with the care of Duane and his family.
