Steven Phillip Harriman was born October 23, 1948 to William L. and Evelyn L. (Clouser) Harriman in Ames, Iowa. Steve married Sandra Temple on July 13, 1968 at Gilbert Lutheran Church. He served six years in the United States Navy as a fire control tech and then worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed time spent fishing while at his cabin in Canada. He enjoyed gardening, and swimming in his pool with his twin grandchildren, Kaylee and Joe. Steve loved to talk and tell stories and was proud to be called a family man.

Steve passed away with his family at his side at 66 years of age on April 24, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Steve is survived by his wife, Sandra Harriman, of Gilbert; two children, Phillip Harriman, of Gilbert and Pam (Aaron) Overland, of Madrid; twin grandchildren, Kaylee Sue and Joseph Phillip Overland, of Madrid; one brother, Bill (Carol) Harriman, of Story City; and two sisters, Nancy (Nyle) Packer, of Ames and Teri Harriman-Gallahan, of Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
