Michael D. Sydnes was born July 12, 1967 to Richard and Diana (White) Sydnes in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended Norwalk schools. Mike was a warm, caring person who loved helping people. He was a devout Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, going to the Newton Speedway and was an avid lover of animals, particularly his cats.

Mike passed away at 47 years of age on April 7, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mike is survived by his father, Richard (Sandie) Sydnes; his brother, Doug (Jodi) Sydnes; two aunts, Linda (John) Gookin and Nancy (Steve) Caylor; one uncle, Gerald Sydnes; two nephews, Troy (Tess) Gritts and Alex Sydnes; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Sydnes; and two aunts, Connie (Chris) Swisher and Sue Green.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Iowa Methodist Medical Center for the compassion and care that they gave to Mike and his family.

Burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in Fjeldberg Church Cemetery in rural, Huxley.
