David Michael Egland was born on June 2, 1955 to Glen and June (Michaelson) Egland in Ames, Iowa. Gary participated in 4-H, track, and bowling in high school and graduated from Roland-Story in 1973. His worked as a truck driver and had lived in the Roland or Jewell areas most of his life. His pastimes were men’s softball, bowling and working on classic cars - he liked to tinker with things. His eyes lit up when his grandchildren came to visit and he loved his family very much.

David died on February 28, 2015 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion at the age of 59.

David is survived by his father, Glen Egland; three sons, Josh (Rebecca) Egland, of Clarion, Chris (Megan) Egland, of Council Buffs and Brian Egland, of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Arlin Egland and Randy Egland, both of Ames; and two sisters, Kathy (Charlie) Bailey, of Ames and Julie (Rick)Wagner, of Kamrar.

He is preceded in death by his mother, June Egland; and an infant sister, Julianna Egland.

Burial will be a later date in the Roland Cemetery.
