Cynthia C. Hogan was born on November 11, 1936 to Wylie and Marjorie (Foley) Jenson in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis and then attended Minnesota Business School.
Cynthia married James A. Hogan on June 20, 1959 in Minneapolis. She was employed as a secretary for Red Owl Food Stores in Minneapolis. They moved to Ames in 1965.
She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames and St. Gerard Circle. Cynthia found great joy in raising her family and spending time with friends. She happily volunteered her time for various organizations, including the Ames Public Library, Meals on Wheels and over 15 years at the Mary Greeley Hospitality Shop.
Cynthia passed away at home under hospice care on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 78 years of age.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Jim Hogan, of Ames; her son, Tim Hogan, of LaPlace, LA; her daughter, Kathy (Paul) Schwartz, of Saratoga Springs, NY; her grandchildren, Matt Schwartz, of Dallas, TX, Tom Schwartz, of Daytona Beach, FL and Katie Schwartz, of Saratoga Springs; her twin sister, Sheila (David) Savoie, of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her parents; her brother, Ward Jenson; her sister-in-law, Betty Jenson; and her grandson, Denny Macdonald.
Memorial contributions may be designated to Heartland Adult Daycare.
