Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Sylvia Pauline Doolittle was born January 13, 1912 to Oscar S. and Maggie (Burke) Charlson in Hamilton County, Iowa. She married Wesley Doolittle August 19, 1942 in Bethany, Missouri. Sylvia lived in the Story City area her entire life and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing.

Sylvia passed away at 102 years of age on January 4, 2015 at Bethany Manor.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Mark (Cindy) Doolittle, of Boone; her daughter, Diane (Stephen) Holt, of Ellsworth; five grandchildren, Weston Barnes, Anna Pfaff, Aaron Holt, Jennifer Kay MacRunnel and Tera Lynn O'Brien; and six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Fox, Alison, Noah, Logan and Tessa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley; her son, Steven Wendell Doolittle; six brothers, Carter Charlson, Earl Charlson, Herbert Charlson, Lyle Charlson, Orville Charlson and Billy Charlson; and her sister, Ethel Lenning.

Memorials may be designated to Grace United Methodist Church or the Sheffield Cemetery Association.
