Friday services for Wilfred Bacon
Wilfrd N. (Bill) Bacon, 67, Roland died Feb. 25 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
Services are Friday at 2 p.m. from Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, with the Rev. Everett N. Nelson officiating. Military graveside services by member of American Legion Post No. 334 of McCallsburg will be held at Roland Cemetery.
Born Feb. 24, 1908 in Albion, Mrs. Bacon lived in the Clemons and St. Anthony area. He and Gertie Rose Hill were married March 3, 1929 in Clemons. From 1943 until 1966, Mr. Bacon resided in Phoenix, Ariz. He was veteran of World War II and a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Roland.
Surviving are his wife; a sister, Mrs. Wanda Spurlin, Clemons and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
