Rites Wednesday for Mrs. Dailey
Hattie Ayers Dailey, 83, formerly of 707 Burnett Ave., died Jan. 25 at Oak Park Manor in Nevada.
Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Simmons of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is in the Nevada Cemetery.
Born Jan. 19, 1892 in Iowa Center, Mrs. Dailey was a lifetime resident of Story County. She lived in Ames for 30 years before moving to Oak Park Manor in 1972, Mrs. Dailey was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of which she was past worth high priestess. She and Merit Kyle Dailey were married in 1912.
Surviving are a son, William M., 1605 Burnett Ave.; three daughters, Isaphene Dailey and Margaret Wells, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Dorothy Clark of Republic, Mo.; as brother Lowell Ayers, Waterloo; a sister Mrs. Mary Elliott, Jesup; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dailey was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home.
