Worsley Funeral Tuesday Afternoon

The mortal remains of the late Theo P. Worsley, 68, who died Sunday evening were laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery, Tuesday afternoon, following services which were conducted at the house by Rev. Jackson Giddens of the First Methodist church.

In the passing of Mr. Worsley, "Jack" Worsley as he had long been familiarly known, Story county lost one of its old and long active citizens. Relatives from Cedar Rapids, Des Moines and various other points were here for the funeral in addition to the two sons, Arthur of Titonka, Kossuth county and Theodore of Salina, Kansas, with their families.

During his long residence in Nevada he had been active in business and public affairs as well. He had served at different times upon the city council and was for two terms postmaster of Nevada. Politically he had been identified with the Democratic party, although his political activities had never been offensively partisian.

Theodore P. Worsley, second son of Charles Rugdale and Emma Worsley, was born in Gainsborough, England, October 18, 1856. He came to Nevada about 1880 and has been a resident ever since. April 24, 1884 he was married to Miss Elfa Lockridge and to this union two sons were born, Arthur of Titonka, Kossuth county and Theodore, Jr., of Salina, Kansas.

When young in life he confirmed in the Episcopal church and after coming to Iowa there being no church of this denomination he permitted his church membership to remain in the Episcopal church of which he was a member. Also before leaving England he was admitted to British bar.

Mr. Worsley had been in failing health for number of years and during the past two years his breakdown had become more pronounced, becoming critical only a short time before his death which occurred on Sunday, July 12, 1925. His age being 68 years, 8 months and 24 days. He leaves to mourn his death the wife, two sons and their wives and four grandchildren and a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
