Dolores Ramona Stephenson was born October 13, 1928 to Palmer and Irene (Thompson) Logan in Story City, Iowa. Dolores and William "Bill" Stephenson were married June 20, 1948 in Ames. Dolores was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ames and was a 40-year breast cancer survivor. Dolores and Bill owned and operated several businesses in Ames over the years which included Steve's Shell Station for 20 years and Mr. Steak for 16 years. She also worked as a U.S. Postal Clerk at Ace Hardware for 24 years. Dolores enjoyed playing bridge and had great luck playing the Iowa Lottery winning $600,000 in 1987, and $25,000 in 2005 and again in 2006, playing Bingo scratch cards.

Dolores died suddenly of a heart attack at 86 years of age on December 24, 2014.

Dolores is survived by her son, Craig Stephenson, of Ames; her daughter, JoAnne (Terry Ellis) Stephenson, of Arlington, Texas; two granddaughters, Lecia (Eric) Epping, of Coralville and Amber (Sam) Huffman, of Portland, Oregon; and two great-granddaughters, Madelyn Epping and Juliana Epping, both of Coralville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her daughter, Nancy; one sister; and two brothers.

Memorials may be given to the Ames Animal Shelter, 325 Billy Sunday Road, Ames, IA 50010.
