Robert "Bob" William Johns was born November 15, 1931, the son of Iral and Ethla (Jorgensen) Johns in Ames, Iowa. Bob was a member of Collegiate Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Ames Senior High in 1950 and attended Iowa State College.

Robert was united in marriage with Kathleen Bernice Risvold on June 18, 1955 at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Three children were born to this union. He worked for Hach Company for 30 years and was active in the community. He served for many years with the Ames Jaycees, teaching gun safety. He was also very active with his church, Cub Scout Pack 230 and Boy Scout Troop 230.

Robert died at 83 years of age on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Riverside Enrichment Communities North in Ames.

Robert is survived by his wife, Kathleen Johns, of Ames; his three children, Steve Johns, of Westminster, Colorado, Dan (Julie Mostek) Johns, of Rochester, Minnesota and Debbie (Phil) Anderson, of Brighton, Colorado; his grandchildren, Ashley (Damien) Mancuello, Andrew Mostek, Benjamin Mostek, Lyndsay Von Dietrich, Natalie Anderson, Brandon Anderson and Matthew Luna; and six great-grandchildren, Caleb, Tyler, Mason, Lars, Lorelei and Lola.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Edward Johns; and his sister, Eleanor (Eleigh) Johns.
