Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Diane Marie Ness was born on March 5, 1956 to Robert and Donna Mae (Brooks) Weltha in Story City. Diane graduated from Roland-Story High School in 1974 and recently retired from the materials distribution department at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. She had lived in the Roland/Story City area all her life and liked to watch sci-fi movies, read, work in her garden, hunt morel mushrooms and generally be outdoors. Diane loved her family and her dogs.

Diane died at 58 years of age on December 21, 2014 at her home in Roland.

Diane is survived by her five children, Travis (Chantel) Ness of Overland Park, Kansas, Brandie (Alan) Gossel, of Story City, Jamie (Adam) Lee, of Story City, Joseph Ness, of Roland and Shane Ness, of Cedar Rapids; her eight grandchildren, Lexy, Hayle, Kyleen, Billy, Brody, Taylor, Hayden and Ian; and her brothers, Joel (Patti) Weltha, of Story City, Doug (Frances) Brooks, of Hutchinson, Minnesota and Steven Brooks, of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Donna Weltha; her adoptive parents, Kenneth and Florence Brooks; and her ex-husband, Robert Ness.

Her cremated remains will be buried at a later date at Mamrelund Cemetery in Randall.
